Nominations for membership to the PMBA Board of Directors will open on Friday, August 1. PMBA members interested in running for any of the 4 open Board seats should submit a candidate description to the Nominating Committee by August 15, after which nominations will be closed. On-line voting for Board members will commence shortly after that date, with in-person voting occurring at the PMBA General Membership meeting on September 24.
Like most organizations PMBA is governed by a Board of Directors. The 13-member Board meets about once per month to plan PMBA events and conduct PMBA business. Officers are elected by the Board from amongst its members. In addition, Board members are the core work group of PMBA and are expected to organize and participate in PMBA activities, such as trail maintenance, leading rides, skills clinics and the Rally in the Valley. Board members serve a three-year term and are eligible for reelection.
The Board election process is managed by the Nominating Committee. PMBA members who wish to run for a board seat should submit a 2-paragraph statement of their qualifications to

no later than August 15. The Committee will verify the candidate's PMBA membership status. For all valid nominees the qualifications statements will be posted on the PMBA website linked to an online ballot, which will allow all PMBA members to review each candidate's qualifications prior to voting. Members can vote on-line until September 20, after which on-line voting will be closed. At the September 24 PMBA General Membership meeting each candidate will have one minute to present their qualifications, after which all PMBA members who have not voted on-line can vote for up to four different candidates for the four open Board positions. The elected Board members will take office immediately upon election. |
