Well thanks to Bonkers and the PMBA beginner clinic, I think I'm hooked on Wissahickon riding now! Damn it!
I'd like to get down there more often and hone my skills, and work on my conditioning (I struggle with the climbs).
Unfortunately the weeknight rides are gonna be hard for me to get to at that time of the day, with rush hour traffic and all. I'm 45 minutes away without traffic, over an hour with.
So, I'd be interested in riding there on some weekends and would like to find some people to ride with. The problem is finding people that are at a similar level as me so I can keep up wtih them (again, I'm really slow on the climbs!). So I need people that are patient on the climbs and don't mind taking frequent breathers.
I don't know the trails real well as I've only been there 3x so far, but I don't mind exploring, or having someone show me around.
Any newbies interested? Or patient not-so-newbies? Let me know.
Jonathan

Knowing is half the battle!
Let me know when you need another fix & I'll come out if I can get away from parental duties. Just keep riding more over there & eventually you'll improve quickly.

Fightnut, I'm up for it. I'm still gaining my stamina on hills and long rides as well.
My email is ricocpa@yahoo.com ....I'm on the Meetup site as well.

Hey man, you can hit me up too. I am also working on building up my stamina and strength for the hills of the Wiss.
Hit me up whenever you're interested: dcowls07@gmail.com.
I live right on Henry Ave. so I'm just a short pedal over to the park (2 blocks from Wise Mill).
Hit me up whenever, I'm always trying to ride.

I'm thinking of going to Fair Hill on Saturday. Great intro place - not too technical. Anyone else interested?

Sunday's tough right now, BUT I was thinking to do a slower paced ride. Wife just bought a 2008 Giant Anthem & is antsy to ride it! Right now the only scheduled time I can do a slow paced ride again is maybe next Sunday afternoon.

OK Rob ... with all this talk about new bikes for you and the wife ... I assume that you MUST have already bought a new house and I am wondering when we will be helping you move and when the big party is ... I know ... sometimes I just slay me ... Tell R I said hi. Let me know when we can ride. John http://inetmarine.comHey John, it's Rebecca... nope, no new house, yet! I am the one with the new bike (Giant Anthem 1) not Rob. He can only dream and maybe borrow mine (if he's lucky). He'll get his new bike when he either sells the 2 of the ones he has now, or buys me a new house! But I'll remember that you're willing to help us move See you one the trails! Hi Rebecca! Glad you got your Giant Anthem. My Bro-In-Law has one of those that he likes a lot. If I were you i would torture Rob a bit and tell him that he needs to buy you that new house before he even borrows your bike!!!
Oh if they only made little smiley faces with devil horns sticking out the top.
Anyway ... glad you got the new bike and maybe you can have Rob stay home with the little girl and you can come ride the Wiss with us! (Now I know I am in trouble with Rob!!!).
And yes ... when you guys move I will be more than happy to help. My only requirement is coffe in the am and beer and Pizza when the job is done (or when my stomach is growling, whichever comes first!).
See ya on the trail.

For people of all walks of life the bicycle is the great unifier. Brothers and sisters on two wheels, another cyclist is a friendly face in a crowded sea.

Hey guys, we're gonna have another beginner clinic this Sat at Wiss for those of you interested. Sorry for the late notice but sometimes things happen on the fly around here. We'll post more info soon as we have a final plan. Probably meet at Livezey pavillion...set up some ramps and then jump it. Sweet.

Watch out Rob ... we all know that you technically "wear" the pants in the family, but we all know who tells you which pants to wear and when it is ok to wear them ... John www.iNetMarine.com
