mud on mud with more mud....

even if you wanted to ride and destroy the trails and your bike you couldn't CAUSE THE MUD IS SOOOO DEEP i don't think you could get moving in most spots!

please do the trails a favor and take the week off.

i ran last night, and while it sucked, it beat being in the house not riding.

i plan to ride a road cenury this weekend, again, better than not riding at all. if anyones got a road bike and feels like busting out a 100 this weekend drop me a line!

cant wait for DRY TRAILS AND WARM WEATHER.

We need 50 tons of gravel and 100 tons of soil of clay mixed with sand, to rebuild all the trails with gravel bed and sandy clay trail surface to make them water proof!   Wink

I wonder in what condition places like White Clay are right now? From what I remember the trails there might be a bit more mud proof.

if i were looking to ride off road this weekend i'd be thinking of the sandiest place you've ever ridden in jersey... that MIGHT be dry enough.

seriously i can't reember the last time i saw the trails this muddy. even running was incredibly freakin hard cause the mud was so deep and slippery in spots.

i know they did do a good job making the trails drain pretty well over at white clay but i think even there it would be really bad form to ride this weekend....

anyone know of a good spot you can ride when everywhere else is a muddy mess?

Heading to Heartshorne on Saturday, and I hear Allaire is pretty dry by now as well. Close to the shore they didn't get much snow, mostly rain that somewhat froze over night. And the soil is much sandier.
I kow everything else further inland is just coming out from under the snow cover and will be a squishy mess.

i rode yesterday. i didnt think it was possible to ride in a mile long puddle. It was still the shizzy though. nothing beats fast sketch ice mud water downhill. oooohh the insantiy!! Shocked

I've ridden at Camden County College in NJ right after a rainstorm and found the trails dry.  They must have totally sandy soil over there.  I've attached a Google Earth image of the trail and it's relationship to the College if anyone wants to try the place - I'm in Vermont this weekend or I'd take a group over there.

I agree. How is it that we're an organization that advocates for access to trails, trail preservation and public awareness, yet we're willing to ride on the trails (openly discuss) when they're in the worst condition Huh Shouldn't we be the one's setting the example? Especially if we're a direct charter of IMBA? I'm not saying I've never ventured out onto the trails once in a while when they haven't completely dried, but all it took was one rider to verbally "educate" me as to the destruction I was contributing to. Some of my best rides have been when the conditions haven't been ideal. How ever, after seeing what a dozen riders can do to trail in just 30 minutes is heart breaking!! Even more so if it's one that is group maintained. Ok, now I'm getting off my soap box Embarrassed

Yeah, When its muddy please just go for a hike instead.  If its muddy and we're out riding,  it does set a terrible example.

Yes I have to agree that we should not be riding the trails this week, and especially not posting on this forum if you did!!! Sheesh! Come on fellas, use your heads!  (put on wig) I hearby sentence you guys to several lashings at dawn on the morrow. All thee public will be invited to witness thee spectacle. Sirs Hunter & Krotee, round up these derelicts and bring them to me!
