Time to Join the Party

Hey folks, seeing others were introducing themselves, I thought that I'd throw in.
My name is Dan, but somehow in college I picked up the nickname Dudeman and it just stuck. I live probably half an hour away from VG, so when I'm not at college I attempt to ride there at least twice a week. While at college (Kutztown University) I tend to end up at South Mountain by Emaus, Blue Marsh, or when I feel like killing myself on an uphill, doing the Pinnacle Trail fireroad. Then there is the wonderful buffalo farm trail here in the massive city of Kutztown.
On top of mountain biking, I love rock climbing, bouldering, and occasionally whitewater kayaking. Regardless, glad that there is an organization out there that cares about the trails and brings mountain bikers together to enjoy long uphills and fast downhills! Come this summer, I hope to be out with you guys as much as possible.
Oh, and I'm sporting a GT i-Drive 5 4.0 which is currently out of commission due to a crash last week and an old-school Gary Fisher Supercaliber hardtail.

Nice Dudeman. Looks like we found another roadtrip companion. We try to do as many road trips as possible during the riding season so stay tuned.

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome.
Yeah, I'm always down for a road trip. The last four years of my life have been one big road trip, really. Just gotta get back to my excellent biking self.
Here's a question though. I just checked out this mountain biking video from about 2001 and they were showing people riding these built rails I believe up in British Columbia. Nothing fancy, just two-by-fours with thick wood planks. Every since I saw that, I've been hooked and wanna find an area to try it out. However, so far all I've been able to practice balancing on is an actual 2x4 on the ground. Does anyone know about any tracks or parks like that out there?
I mean, who doesn't wanna be Ryan Leech?

I am pretty sure that the White Clay/Middle Run park in Delaware has a big skills park.

Yeah - it's a great place to ride. Middle Run is also a good beginner ride. It's not too far, either. Here are some pix from a trip last summer:

Rico, you'll love the place. Nice, fast singletrack, lots of small hills but no really big ones, no rocks but lots of tree roots and logs. MR has a 5.5 mile loop, which is great for a beginner. Then you can add on the whole White Clay loop, which is probably another 10 miles - and catch the skills park. We went down last year and brought picnic lunches - rode MR in the AM; then had lunch and then headed over to White Clay. It was a great roadtrip.

Welcome aboard Dudeman- I'm a newbie in here too.. I just rode White Clay (actually I think it was Middle Run) yesterday & hit that skills section, it's nice. I'll try to get some pics up soon for to show. Let me know when you're thinking about a trip down there.
