Yep, sad. I've been keeping track of his health blog since he started having the MS related issues, but this is a shock. I learned so much I know about bikes from his website.
If the scale of which this news has hit every bike forum on the web, I'd say I'm not the only one.

I actually have Sheldon to thank for helping me build 5 wheels. He has awesome wheel building instructions on that website. The wheels are still going strong!

Has anyone ever met him? His website could def. use a tune up, I wonder who's taking care of it now? Maybe I could host it for his estate for nothing.

That's an awesome idea, Chris. I'm sure his family would appreciate it, unless they already have made some plans and provisions, or the shop from which he worked and hosts his site now will continue doing so.

It's tied in with Harris Cyclery so I'm sure they will continue to maintain it. Also I'm pretty sure the site design was Sheldon's so I'm sure they'll want to keep it that way. There always was something nice about the minimalistic, information-packed, HTML 1.0 aspect of his site though...

Yeah 1.0 is very publicly tangible as far as creating it, almost anyone can create those types of pages so it has a very personalized feel for the author. 2.0 requires a lot more knowledge of css. I'm sure harris cycle will keep it going.

I didn't know anything about him but if you every build up a singlespeed and need some info you are bound to stumble into his site. He created a great resource and shared his enthusiasm with everyone.
