Hello all.

You all seen the weekly rides schedule on the front page, many of you took part of some of those rides. It's a great way to ride with friends, especially now, at night, or for new riders to join in on the fun and learn the park.

Unfortunately, one of the rides does not have a leader(s), and as far as I know does not take place. We are seeking volunteers who would like to take the ownership. It does not take much. If you know that you regularly ride at least once a week, and your schedule permits riding weekly on that day at that time, that's all it takes. Just to make sure if someone wants to join in, then could contact you for the details, or just show up on the day and time at the location specified and find someone there. Ideally, it would be nice to have 2-3 people, this way, if one can't make it due to some scheduling conflict, the other would and the ride would go on. If the "owner" of the ride knows for sure that it won't happen, due to weather or other issues, just take a second to post in the forum saying that the ride has been cancelled, just like Tom, Jesse and myself have been doing for the Mon, Tue, Wed and Thur rides.

Ok, the ride in question is the Wednesday ride at 6 PM starting from Valley Green Inn.

If no one wants to take it up, we will have to remove it from the schedule.

I hope someone will take it!

I think I could lead that ride.  I am trying to see if one of my friends will lead it with me.  We do a couple of night rides a week anyway; just a little later than the ones already scheduled.  If we could move the time to 7:30 there should be no problems for one of us getting there on time.  Grin

That may be a good plan Dustin. I am actually thinking of changing the time on my ride to a little earlier, like 5 or 6, that way we can have two separate times on humpday for people who cannot make the earlier time. That midweek ride really does help get you to the weekend.

What do you think Dmitri?

Yeah, I was going to say that om got that time already covered, but if he moves his ride up and you, Dustin, take 7:30, that would be great!

Thank you! Great way to get involved.

So, I'm good for the 7:30 time?  I wasn't quite sure on that last message.  How many people usually show up?  Do I post a message somewhere to set it up?

Dustin,

The number of people depends. As of right now, there isn't anyone riding on Wed at 6 from VG. I'll change the info on the front page to 7:30 and put your name and email as contact person.

So far it will be you and your buddy. Spread the word, invite others.  Wink

In case you're not going to be there and your buddy doesn't show up, post in Wiss forum that the ride is cancelled.

Good luck and thank you very much for picking it up!

Tom, do you want me to change yours from Pavillion back to 6 PM?

Rico, My wife doesn't ride much at night so you should be able to borrow one of my lights for a while.  It's a Trail Rat 2.0 from NiteRider which for around 100-120 bucks is the best deal in lights if you want to check them out.  I think Pricepoint.com is the cheapest place to get them.  What are your thoughts on a place to start?  We start all over the place depending on mood but picking one spot would probably be best.  If the current ride starts from VG then I'm ok with that unless anyone else wants to start someplace else.

Sticking to one starting point is good for people who just go on the web site and wnat to pick up a ride, so they know that on that day of the week, there will be a ride at that spot at that time.
If you start elsewhere, try to swing by VG or anohter deignated starting point by the time listed on the front page.
That said, if you want to change the location just post here or email me and I'll change the list on the front page.

Let's keep it at Valley Green.  I'll be there about 7:15 every wed. and head out about 7:30 or 7:40.

Yea I will change mine to six. I am considering moving my meeting spot to VG as well but I'm looking for input from my regular attendies. Obviously I like the Pavillion cause it's right near my house. Problem is that the gate is closed which means you cannot park in the lot. This is unfortunate and really don't see the reasoning behind closing the gate so early. It would ease the traffic at VG if they leave the other lot open.

I'd rather you leave it at the Pavilion too, but I'm only semi-regular...
