Didn't know which forum to stick this in, so here it goes...
Someone already mentioned that they have Monday off, so do I. Is anyone interested in getting together a longish day light ride?

Wissahickon - staying on the home turf of the PMBA and can prolly make it sound PMBA related.
French Creek, Fair Hill, etc. - are longer rides but are venturing outside of "our" territory.
What are our preferences?

I'm in if we're staying local with particular interest in Wiss. So long as there will be bailout points along the way as I'm in no shape for a ride of more than an hour or so. I also don't want to drag down a group that might want a faster pace, so if anyone wants to branch off into a slow pokes ride let me know. If this doesn't work, I'll probably stay out in the 'burbs and ride closer to home.

I like the idea of Wissa/Belmont combined loops. With inclusion of that section of Wissa on the other side of Kelly or whatever that road is. As much as I like Fair Hill, staying might attract more people, and staying on familiar ground will allow us to plan several loops of various lengths, with common start/finish points, thus we could have several groups out there going at their comfortable pace and covering their distances, but converging at the end for some good beer and hanging out.

i second the notion of a couple different rides....
cause honestly if the one group trys to do both and spends all morning riding one side of the wiss then we will never finish the longer ride...
bob would you be up for leading a slower wiss only loop that day (provided there is interest of course)? we definitely need some rides for those of us who don't ride all the time!

I don't know the trails well enough to lead, but thanks for asking. As I get more familiar with the trails I'd be happy to take up that type of role, as I tend to enjoy a more lesiurely pace in general.
Anyone else wanna pony up for the slowpoke lead?

Max,
It's already Wednesday, and we are running out of time for planning. I suggest we start early but not too early, maybe about 10 AM.
Since you know both parks teh best, and have organized rides linking the both in the past, would you suggest a good starting point?

If the ride is still on, I'll be there. If it's not, I might be there anyway. Chris

Judging by Max's post in Wissa forum, it looks like it's on. I'll be there.

not sure how rideable belmont will be today, i went out for a night ride there last night (sunday), very peculiar conditions. the front of the park was pretty much rideable, the backside behind the tennis courts was nearly impossible! wondering what a little bit of solar radiation will do to though. only time will tell, see ya'll soon!

It was 17 when we took off from the Valley Green parking lot, but it didn't feel all that cold at all. Must've been the sun and tree cover from the wind. We discussed which exact ton it was, metric, imperial, etc... No tsure if decided which it was, but it was a top of work to pedal thru some sections of snow. But it was an awesome ride!
Thank you for all who came out and shared the fun!

Did a late day solo ride and it was awesome. Trails were definitely rideable, only had to walk a few parts. It was a little sketchy but fun. Felt good to pedal and sweat. Looks like rain tomorrow

Umm... There are ways to do that, but I haven't really had time to implement it for this site. Give me another couple weeks or so. If you want to email it to me on gmail, I'll post it for you manually. hunter.christopher@gmail.com
