Jesse,

Your Thursday rides are always a blast.  For next week, how about we do the reverse loop for a change?  That was lot of fun last time around and will be better yet since hopefully it'll be DARK

I'll second that!  Thursday rides are always a great time... now if we could only get our fearless leader up the hills a little faster  Grin

halfLoop: reverse loop for next week sounds like a good idea to me, hopefully everyone brings their lights.

Great idea.

I would also love to do the Indian and check out the new Phase 1 trail! It's Dean's favorite  Grin

gonna have to work on lights now

Fearless leader needs a motor for the hills.

PMBA general meeting tonight at the manayunk diner 7pm. Still meeting at VG to pick up riders at 5:30, but some of us are starting early as we have to bail early. I will be leaving from Livezy pavilion at 5pm. Be there or be there not.

...humble suggestion for tonight (Oct 9).  Reverse loop ~ VGI to Bells Mill on Indian side, up Monster back to VGI.  We did that few weeks back and was fun plus I haven't been on Red Covered to Bells mill loop in a long time.  Plenty of bail out points for meeting attendees.

yes, it did come from me    Embarrassed   however, I was thinking Indian->Bells Mill->Monster->etc.  I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Better get back to work...just not feeling it today  Cool

...just wondering if any folks are going to start at Pavillion tonight (Oct 23) at 5:00 and then swing by VGI at 5:30?  That's been the case last few times.

I probably won't make it tonight. I'm putting Lisa in charge if she's there. Just don't leave anyone behind, dress in layers so you can shed if you get warm, be respectful of other park users, and wash behind your ears.

You'll all be relieved to know that the Thursday night ride survived tonight without Jesse!  A couple of guys were wearing shorts and tee shirts, though, and I think that someone yelled at a dog, so maybe Jesse will need to beef up his briefings next week!

people, riding tonight. If it's crappy we'll road it to the art museum or go for an urban assault. Bring an extra rain layer just in case.

I won't be here next Thursday

Happy T-Day all. I think someone's trying to get a ride going in the morning. see Turkey Trot

I will probably go for a very short ride from Livezy around 2-2:30 to burn off an early Turkey Dinner. Drop me a line if you wanna go.

A couple of us are going to catch a movie in the late afternoon/early evening. I  haven't been to the movies in over 2 years so I figure it's time.  I'm thinking Quantum of Solace (Bond) at 4:40 at the Regal in Plymouth Meeting. The 4:40 time would hopefully beat some of the evening crowd.

If any of you cats are feeling lonesome and want to share that wholesome movie experience, see ya there. We might hit the Keswick Tavern or some place after. You can purchase movie tickets at Fandango:

And don't forget Jon's Fairhill ride on Friday; also mentioned in the Turkey Trot thread.

Hey people, it’s time for fearless leader to be put out to pasture. I’m looking for someone to take over as Thursday Nite ride leader.

The Thursday nite Wiss ride has probably been going the longest of any of the Wiss rides. Lisa had run it for many years and I’ve been doing it for a little while. It’s probably still the most popular group ride in the park, and has had numbered from 1 to 20+ depending on the season, conditions and chance.

I’ve been a steady participant for about five years, and I still plan to do the ride as much as possible, but I also plan to spend a lot more time in the UK this coming year, and I feel a need to unload every modicum of extra responsibility. Really it’s not much of an effort, you just have to answer a couple extra emails, pick a direction, and do your best to keep track of everyone during the ride.

Please let us all know if you are interested. And please forward this to any other Thursday nite rider not in this email or anyone else you think might be interested.

I’m also dropping the 8:30 am Sunday ride which never really got off the ground. Chuck still has his at 9am though as listed on the site.

Not sure about tonight; not looking too promising.

I’m pleased to report that Dan has stepped up as ride leader.  We’ve actually come to a power sharing agreement in which we’ll co-lead the ride. Who is Dan? Well, we have 19 “Dans” or “Daniels” at PMBA and I don’t know his last name, but he’s the young chap on the green bike who goes really fast. He’s been at many of the rides in the last few months.

So basically Dan will handle all the responsibilities while I am there for ceremonial purposes. Think of it like he’s the Prime Minister and I’m the King!   I’ll get you his last name in and email in a bit, unless he pipes up on here.

Is it the same Dan that crashed hard two times within 5 minutes of the ride the last time I rode a Thurs ride? If so, great choice for a leader  Wink

not sure, but he told me he crashed hard 2 times at Ted's backyard.
He kicks my butt, which ain't saying much, but he also stepped up, and that is the sign of the leader.

General Custer stepped upped too and I'm pretty sure he was way in over his head. Let's just hope a the Wiss doesn't turn into his Little Big Horn.

Is Dan still in? I noticed you had not changed the homepage yet, Jess.

I hope you made it out cause the trails are mint right now.

Dan is still doing it I guess but I have no way of contacting him. There are 20 Dans in the member directory and i have no idea which one is him. He's just normally come to a lot of Thursday nights since last summer.
