Well, 11 years after selling my Eastern Woods Research, she finally came home this weekend.  Long story short - I sold it when I was in a pinch for $, and lost the number of the guy I sold it to. This happened in 1996.  I was at thte dog park, of all places, last wednesday and I bump into the guy I sold it to.  Said he just sold it to a guy at the shop I used to work for for $75!!!! I got on the phone, some wheeling and dealing, a case of expensive porter, and my 1994 Eastern Woods Research Woods bike is back at home with daddy!

Thanks to Mr. Ed at Bikeworks in Harleysville for negotiating the deal, and thanks to Matt for letting his baby finally come home.

Ok, so I only got the frame and need a 1" fork.  Anyone out there have a 1" (threaded or threadless) fork they want to get rid of?  Steer tube has to be at least 5 inches for threaded.  I would prefer an air/oil shock, but am not going to be picky. 

So, whaddya got in the storage area you are looking to move?

I think Marzocchi makes a 1" threadless fork. At least they did a year or so ago. If they dont call Bill at Guys Bikes. EBAY. I have a first generation Manitou that has a 1" but its a piece of wall art in my garage.

I found out that Marzocchi still makes a 1" fork.  It is the Corsa SL WC, 80mm - 100mm travel.  Tehy say it is a special order but JensonUSA stocks them for (GULP) $729.   Undecided  That is quite a chunk of change.....  It supposedly weighs in at 3.1 lbs though, which is really light.  Lighter than the frame actually.

I have feelers out to Answer/Manitou, Fox, but can't find a contact for Rock Shox. 

I did find a Tange Super Light fork (NOS) from a guy in DE (Reid at Market East) who has them for about $45.  I'll probably pick one of these up, just in case. 

The search continues.....

Last post on this topic.

Those fantastic MF'ers over at White Brothers are still doing it right.  They are still doing one-off type things and are making a 1" Threadless steerer for me.  $650 covers the bill for their Magic 100. And it only weighs in at 3.8 lbs (supposedly)

So - to those of you with a sweet vintage ride that are looking to put an updated fork on it, call your local bike shop (thanks BikeWorks in Harleysville) and hook it up.  Should have it in two weeks.
