Before I go emailing every internet store and manufacturer, I figured I'd ask my question here first.

Does anyone make/sell padded biker shorts with a fly up front?  The reason I ask is that I ride on patrol at work.  Taking a leak really sucks with the duty belt and the belt-keepers on there; I can't just undo the front of the duty belt and the garrison belt underneath without the whole thing wanting to drop to the ground while I pee (and taking my uniform shorts with it).  I generally undo the uniform shorts' fly, reach in, and pull my padded shorts down; but pulling them back up into place when I'm done leaves them a little bunched at the waistband.  A fly on the padded shorts would alleviate the entire problem, and allow me to pee more freely.  I'm at that age where I can't waste any time when I get the urge.  (If you young guys have no idea what I'm talking about, consider yourselves lucky,...for now.)

Anyway, sorry for all the sordid details.  I know it's TMI, but I figured someone would ask why I need a fly-front pair of shorts.   Undecided

Do you have to use specific uniform shorts or can you use a general cycling patrol short? Here are a couple:
http://www.bicycleclothing.com/Patrol-Shorts-Unisex.html

Not sure if these are padded but they have a few different styles and these have good reviews:

I  guess your looking for an udershort with chamois and fly. But try looking up patrol shorts. There may be some women's shorts too with easy access.

Lastly, you might want to try a bib. It is a bit tough to pull it down for access, specially with an outer short I'm sure, but once done the suspenders of the bib pull them back in place. A lot of us larger types find the bib short far more comfortable then regular shorts as there is no 'belt' line.

The uniform items are issued, so I have to wear what they give me (it's all from Gall's).  If they would give us uniform shorts with the padding in them, that would solve the problem, too, 'cause I could wear normal underwear.  My next step is to check with my contacts at IPMBA.  Thanks for the suggestions, though - I'm still pursuing every option right now.
