I attempted to write a polite educational response, but the more i typed less polite and more abrasive my resply was becoming, so i decided to leave it up to Rich and Dan to respond.

I was polite Grin

We all have to take this stuff in stride. We're going to do a lot of things in the years to come that will upset people, so get used to it. We'll catch more butterflies with awesome trails and a bit of education.

No sweat. Negative energy will get crushed by our positive stride.

I think mine is polite? Is it? How about if I do a wheel tap on his skull?

They were all polite. I'm glad Jesse mentioned that the new tread is much narrower than old one. It only looks wider because now the entire 4-6 feet of it's width is usable, when the old trail was nearly 20 feet wide with only couple of feet "usable".

Everyone did a great job responding.

Oh and most important is that for every hater, there are 10 lovers!!! After the ride today I was talking with a guy, whom we crossed paths several times during the ride, and he liked the new trail a lot. Wished there was an easy line on the side of the three steps of death, but he recognized the sustainability and liked the challenged, and thought the trail was great! He also praise all other trail work that has been done thruout the park by PMBA and FOW this season!

PS Lou, I saw what you meant on Gorgas on the lower of the two French drains, we might want to come back some day and widen it a little with more rocks.

Like Dmitri said, I think all the responses were polite and very informative.  Very unlike the original poster's thought process, which just seemed inflammatory, instead of asking why.  I think all the responses were not jaded at all and answered any questions that the origninal poster should have asked.  Also, asking him to come out and participate instead of complain was brilliant.   Wink
