Trails after rain looking sweet in the Wiss

I rode the whole loop with a detour to the bowl today, less than 24 hours after the massive rain. I gotta say I was impressed. There were a few sections that were muddy, but on the whole everything was looking sweet, especially all the areas PMBA has been involved with. Gorgas Lane though will always be in need of attention, but it was completely ridable.
K-man was pointing out the fact that so many of the trees are still green and it looks like fall had barely started. The Indian, with a few leaves and brambles, was looking like it'd already been there a year.
But wow, the amount of hikers! Just like large groups of riders being intimidating, when you're trying to pass a group of 25 hikers who don't want to move, well, that sucks too. Everyone showed up after the rain today and it was jammed. Nice to see so many people taking advantage of it, but in the future I think it's best to head elsewhere during the weekend rush hours.

Yeah I did almost the same starting around 10:30a this morning, and I can never get over how well that place drains in general. Definitely saw tracks from some meatheads riding probably yesterday evening (what, can't wait overnight for stuff to drain?) -- but all the project sites looking great. And yeah hikers everywhere but man what a great day...

Ahhhhhh, what a ride on a glorious day! Was out for 2-1/2 hours today. Started solo and then met with Tom, Nick & Riggs, then my bro Paul joined in on the fun. Trails were in premier shape and conditions. Hardly any soft spots, even the poorly designed trails. Demo 1 and Demo 2 were in spectacular shape! I think I found the sweet spot for Demo 2 "Indian" trail. I hit it at a perfect speed today and found a sweet line. The drops were magical. Nick was right behind me stealing my lines!!!! WHat a day! There was a moderate amount of hikers, but I went from 2:30 to 5 so I think that was after the prime rush...

I was out walking and checking out the work sites: Gorgas, Kitchens and the one from National Trail day, on Saturday afternoon around 3-4 PM.
All the sites looked just about perfect even just 2-3 hours after the rain stopped.
Saw one rider and tracks form another, gave them a stink eye for riding that soon after a major rain.
All our work and designs are working perfectly as intended! It was so good and satisfying to see that!

wass up peeple!
yesterday am was one of the best rides ive had in wiss in a while. trails were sweet!
not liking the indian climb on the ss though. the 4th step up is spaced a bit to close and its a bit too big to maintain momentum...or is that what the notch in the center is for?

4th step?
Do you mean 3rd in the set of three in the middle of the climb, or the 4th "terrace" from the bottom of the climb?
The three steps in the middle are indeed tough to crack, especially on SS.

I went out right after the storm to do some fine tuning with my shovel. The projects that we have worked on are all looking really good. Have to give them a year before we see how sustainable they really are. Ride yesterday was sweet.
That 3 step on the indian is tough. Very challenging. I have not tried it on a ss but I do it on my freeride sled with maximum effort. You'll get it eventually. I'm stoked that we made something that is so challenging to ride even for seasoned riders.
