Trail work in PennyPack?

Anyone notice the current mentioning of the need for trail work in PennyPack? It is in the last two posts on the last page. See the link below:
http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=221661&page=11
I am new to PMBA and have been to the two TM days at Blue Bell Park and noticed the current forum topic about VF. Have we done any work in PP and/or do we plan to?

Yo Rich, we haven't done any other trail work besides Wissahickon. And that is only because up to this point, we have only assisted the FOW with their work projects. The FIRST official PMBA sanctioned trail work day is on June 23 in the Wiss. These projects take a good bit of organization which Tom and Dimitri have been handling for this day.
My suggestion is for someone to step up to the plate and begin to organize a work day at Pennypack. This invloves approaching the FPC Volunteer coordinator for that park (not sure who it is) and gaining their approval for such a project. Let me tell you that it took us 5-6 months to get where we are today in the Wiss. I don't want to discourage anyone from helping out, but the reality of the situation is that it takes determination and actual committment to get an official trail maintenance project. If someone takes the lead, the PMBA will be behind them every step of the way. We have tools to use on such a project, as well as the website to promote the day once it is secured...
Anywho, that is where things stand on TMD's. However, there are several crews that do "unauthorized" trail maintenance. We can't officially acknowledge those projects as a club, but I can tell you that as long as the projects are done in a sustainable fashion, nobody is going to complain. There is plenty of work out there that needs done.
We can talk more about this at the meeting tomorrow if you want...
Peace! Lou

just be careful about this...
as you know, these trails at pennypack don't just stay nice magically. someone IS out there doing maintanence already and we need to be careful not to step on any of their toes.
i am not as familiar with pennypack as i am with the other two parks but i am sure there is a dedictated couple people who keep things nice up there. the thing i think would be the best is somehow figuring out who those people are and offering them a helping hand.
we need to be really sensitive to all this because i bet "officially" pennypack shouldn't have nearly the amount of trail it does. so if the wrong people get an idea of all that is out there already they might not like it at all.
btw, what do you think needs to be done? anytime i have ever been there the trails seem SWEET! (granted it has been a few months)

Max has a very good point. I did a ride once with some of the "trail fairies" in pennypack. They do some nice work. One thing you should do, if you have not already, is purchase and read some of the trail builing and maintenece books offered by imba. Copy the following link.

The info in these books in invaluable to anyone who wants to do work on the trails.

Points well taken. I will see if there have been any more posts on mtbr.com in regard to PennyPack maintenance.
The last time I rode there, a month ago, there were some down trees, not many though. I didn't notice much erosion, but I may ride it this weekend and will keep my eyes open.
