So who rode, where, how much, how long? And who only pigged out on BBQ and bruski?

Lets compare notes, brag, share.

Sorry no PA rides here, I was in NJ. So I did two laps of Heartshorne in NJ, which just about killed me. Hihgly recommend that place if you're near NJ shore. Similar to Wissy in many ways, but different in others, more of single track.
And a recovery longish ride at Mercer Count park today.

Just about perfect wekeend to ride!

My buddy and I were at the Wiss today (Memorial day)  We were worried it would be too muddy but it was fine. (Rain last night)

Holy cow was it humid!  We were drenched within the first few mins.  Great riding though!  So much fun.  We went out for 3 hours.  I was dragging like Rupaul towards the end   Cheesy....I had to eat a carb Gel.

I am knew to the Mountain Biking scene and LOVE IT!

I only ride on Saturday - the demo trail.  But I did get to explain it to a couple of guys I met who hadn't ridden Wiss in a couple of years.  Told them about PMBA too - we may get a couple of new members out of it.  Made it up the golf course hill, which for me is a pretty good feat.  Watched a bunch of mountain bikers try to drown each other at a pool party while the bird watchers and hikers stared disapprovingly.  Those people are never any fun.  Too bad the Portable Technical Devices weren't there.  Freakin' hot for Memorial Day, but better than the cold rain that we've had previous years.

I took a mini-trip up to French Creek since I had some spare time today.  Rode the Red-White loop followed by the Green trail.  It was my first time up there and it was alot of fun and quite challenging.  I bit it a couple times on the slippery- @$$ rocks that are littered all over the trails there.  No major injuries sustained so life is grand.  Grin

On a side note, rode it on my newly acquired C'dale Rush, which eats up trail like no bike I've ridden before.

Rode in the Wiss all 3 days! Sheesh, I need to hit another place. Incredible Bowl session on Sat with about 9 PMBA people. Sunday myself and Sir Forture and Sir Tommy Gunns rode to Dave's party and had a blast! We rode home from there through the park and it was different, after about 5 beers... Just did a Forbidden Drive ride this afternoon to stretch the legs... Anyhoo, awesome weekend. Sam look for you out on the trails!

I did...dare I say it...rode 35 road miles on the Saturday morning shop ride over in South Jersey.
Today I did a good ride around Wiss with some good friends. I got two flats, but tis the season for the thorns. I do feel pretty quick on the bike these days though. Maybe I am just riding with slow folks.

I would love to go ride next weekend, as it is my birthday, but the rain looks like it is on the way.

I need to lead a PMBA road trip to Heartshorne, it's a little smaller than Wissa, but a lot of fun. You might hate the climbs, but will love the twisty tight singletrack downhills and swoopy trails everywhere!

I was out this weekend at Lake Redman in York. Cool place might I say. I ended up running into some people who offered to show me around. As we were coming down this one section of trail, the guy ahead says "watch out!" I had zero time to react to the massive runoff ditch and went OTB...the picture says the rest...

After being on the wagon for 10 weeks, I finally had a chance to imbibe and did so all weekend long!  So I got no riding in whatsoever. Shocked

Hopefully this week and weekend (after the Wiss project).

As Lou already mentioned, the Saturday morning ride out to the bowl...  Amazing session, can't wait until Chucks buddy Dave from Boston sends the pics and video, I'll definitely be posting some of that - I think that was the last day my stock back wheel is going to see that place  Roll Eyes.   I took Sunday off then Paul and I went for an hour ride which covered nearly half the park and half of it was at night with no lights!

I'll post some pics when I get them.

belmont early lap saturday & fairhill "nice" loop sunday.

both days were hot as hell. good to get some quality "schvetting" in. gonna be a long hot summer judging by this weekend so i better get used to going fast in this stuff.   Grin

SM100 is my opnly big event i got left this summer and frankly i think i'll do fine just taking it easy and riding for fun (mostly) the rest of the summer. i still got some nerve issues from riding across the state recently in under 48 hours (on a roadbike) and think i am going to keep my rides short(ish) until all the tingling finally leaves my hands and feet.

good to get in 2 nice rides. sneaking in an early ride at belmont really seems to be the trick (so far) to riding 2 days a weekend this year while maintaining a happy relationship with the missus. if you ride hard from 8 to noon at belmont you can really crush yourself if you try hard Wink

drsaw - just out of curiosity... do you prefer whitclay/middle run or fairhill?

i really like the whiteclay stuff but there just isn't enough of it to get me to go there over fairhill.

i dream one day (and have heard from people who have done it that it is possible and not even too hard) to link middlerun/whiteclay/fairhill all together in one giant sadistic singletrack bonanza!  Shocked

Taco'd the wheel...Dude, I can't believe you broke your bike again.  Tongue

Max. You ride alot. Seriously. A lot.

Rode sat sun...monday? No. I missed monday. Good thing I rode today, and, got to see the death of mr. Hunter's rear wheel.

On sunday, Lou and I purchased some tools for our dedicated work crew. We'll get some dirt on everything this saturday.

No more fitting a death... I've seen that caste steel stock hub and mavic 321 punch through a concrete wall.  I've seen jumps 30ft long empty whole clips at it within point blanc range and hit nothing but air...  Yet as powerful as that wheel was it will never be as strong or as fast as a Chris King.

Max, I prefer White Clay / Middle Run to Fairhill. A frend of mine knows the trails very well, so we always get at least 15-20 miles out of the ride without taking the same trail twice much (long enough for this old f_rt).  You easily can get a 2-4 hour rideout of it with some backtracking loops.

I have brought both my d/s and h/t bikes down, and decided my Seven Sola gobbles that place up. I have been dying to get my SS steel bike down there; but past couple of times it was out of commission with 2 seperate issues.

Anyway, next time we go down, I will contact you, and you can kick our butts on a SS, while we provide the trail guide!

Jeremy, you need a big hit bike my brother. You are too big for those skinny bikes. They are for skinny people who ride smooth! I like to bash through things and I ain't skinny, hence the Gemini...  Grin  Hope you are ok...

cool! i think i know most of your loop at least but it would be nice to see how someone else rolls the park.

one day we should organize a PMBA ride at fairhill. i know so many good trails there it is not even funny. two weeks ago i was there pushing it HARD all by myself and got 3.5 hours of riding in. i would like to say i got 30+ miles in but i have no computer to verify that. sweet thing about fairhill is it is 95% buttery smooth twisty winding singletrack of the sweetest kind. if i had suspension and gears maybe i wouldn't appreciate that place as much, but for riding a rigid singlspeed around at breeakneck speeds it is hard for me to envision a sweeter place than farihill.

Fair Hill would be a great place for a multi-skill level ride, since the trails can be ridden by anyone - just at a different pace depending on skill level.  I think we ought to go next Saturday or the following Saturday (6/9 or 6/16) - maybe the 9th with the 16th as a rain date.  After then we get into the PMBA work day on 6/23, and then the July 4 weekend, such as it is this year.  There are also at least three parking lots (Gallaher Rd, Appleton Rd and Route 273) at Fair Hill, so someone will have to specify the starting point.

Here are some pictures, elevation profiles, and maps: http://www.pearcefamily.org/fair_hill.htm

So who wants to organize it???
