Thursday, April 26
Start 8:00 am (Memorail Hall) arrive @ City Hall/Dilworth Plaza 8:45 a.m. (?)
Finish @ Horticultural Center @ 12:00pm

Ride your bike to work with Mayor Street!
Ride begins @ 8:00 a.m., Memorial Hall (42nd and Parkside) and terminates @City Hall, Dilworth Plaza north side (15th & Market)

Ride with the Mayor from Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park to City Hall, where he will announce Philadelphia’s actions to reduce carbon emissions through: fuel efficient city vehicles, alternative fuels, reduction in city fleets, development of bicycle paths and pedestrian walkways and the purchase of wind energy to power City Hall.

(Mayor gets into his Hybrid/Ford Escape from City Hall to drive to Horticulture Center)

10:30 am Horticulture Center, Belmont Ave. & Montgomery Dr.
PRESS EVENT: Join Mayor Street and Philadelphia school children as they plant trees to celebrate Arbor Day. The Mayor will read a proclamation and announce Philadelphia’s actions to reduce carbon emissions through tree planting and protecting the city’s tree canopy.

i'd be happy if he gave his fellow city employees some incentives to bike to work...  Shocked

i gotta say though, the dude really does ride... i have seen him many mornings on my way to work, chugging along on kelly drive; often times with some poor security guard lookin like he is going to die trying to keep up.  Grin

i would love to ride with the mayor but i'd end up really late for work....
