So what's on everybody's list this season?  I'm still piecing together bits for a build due around Spring time so I just ordered a saddle: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/saddles/product/spoon-saddle-20145.  I've also got some boring winter clothing on the list, and... a custom PMBA wool long sleeve jersey experiment I put together here: http://www.portlandcyclewear.com/woolcyclingjersey.html, so that should be interesting- I plan on throwing one of our new patches on it, too.

What's everybody else eyeing up from Santa or whomever this season?

That seat looks sweet!  I couldn't find it at any of the usual places, any idea how much it is?

Yeah I went for it at like $45 shipped from the UK:

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Charge_Spoon_Cromo_Rail_Saddle/5360029530/

I wish more manufacturers would make something like this- a new saddle that looks as much like a Brooks or Wrights without weighing 3,000 lbs and having a dangerously pointed end.  I've got several leather saddles but I don't consider any of them appropriate for trails.  Hopefully this is.

cool saddle. I've bought from Wiggle before in the UK. But great to see they are shipping to the USA. Funny to see that actually  because often the riders in the UK go through hell to bring stuff in from the US.

Also, if you look the same item up in froogle if brings you to their page with $ prices. Just $32!, but not sure on the shipping unless you spend a lot more.  If you order like $155 min they ship for free.

Looks like I had better put a new saddle on my list. Broke mine at Belmont today. Ti can snap.

I did go back for seconds!

Yea, I came over a double log jump and had to duck under a tree right away, so I somehow came down hard on my seat and *snap*.

I just put my frame back together. I broke that in late October....I'm rough with my toys.

Halfloop, if you're looking for a deal, I bought mine in April as a leftover from the year before.  If you give it until spring you may be able to get an '08 at a good price.  It saved me $800 on the frame.  I went through Guy's but you could find them at Humanzoom also.  I wish it wasn't soooooo addicting to buy new stuff.  I've just got mine where I want it and I'm already looking at the Nomad going, hmmmmm, more inches of travel and same VPP Technology.......interesting...

I hear ya Dustin! Just so happens that Coyle has a Nomad frame, barely used, in his garage. Not sure if he wants to sell it and not sure if you wanna buy it, but I figured I would throw it out there!

I want the new Shimano Saint cranks, real bad because they are cool and mine are old. I got my Saints in Nov 2004 and they have lasted me 4 years and still going strong! All I did was replace their bottom bracket with a Race Face one after a year, they are interchangeable.  And obviously the chain rings a few times.

The new cranks have 22-36 teeth, rather than 22-32 so I think I will ride faster with 4 extra teeth. Makes sense right?!!??  Shocked

I would get the new Nomad; has many improvements over my 08. Unless you are looking for a good deal and have cash in hand. Cash is key.

Durb, couple years ago I bought a hardtail in March for "shiggles" & then bought a full suspension 5mos later & almost got thrown out of the house for it, three MORE months later I bought a road bike (again for "shiggles") & almost got killed. My point is the bike industry understands that cyclists, just like musicians, are impulsive buyers. We don't wait, when we want something we go get it.

The one device that was an awesome addition to my bike was the gravity dropper. I used it every ride and on everything from down hills to rock gardens. But unfortunately between Dean and myself we broke no less than Five of them. Sure, I'm  a big guy, but I don't do anything like the jumps others do. Unfortunately it's just too unsafe. I really think many of them have broken but because of the investment and the great support few want to admit it. For one I'm reluctant to put a review on MTBR just because I don't want to hurt the business after the dude sacraficed everything to make the GD happen. Maybe it was just us, but really, 5 of them, no joke. In each we we were told it was a previous design and it had been beefed up since then.... Neither of us was hurt and they were all stress breaks during plain XC riding, but they were nasty looking fractures and one came very close to causing injury in a pace you don't want jagged metal near.

Also, now there is at least 7 other companies producing similar products. The one that looks like a totally radical design is at http://www.rasebike.com, which has up to a 9" drop but runs close to $400.

Are your Ti bikes going to accept a steel bike into the fold?

Unless, by pimped out, you mean you got a Ti EWR

Hmmmm?

Thinking about it won't make it appear on the trails. Never think about bikes or bike parts, just buy them.

Buy the Blur!  My bro and I just picked up Santa Cruzs a few months back (Heckler and Bullit).  Sickest bikes ever!
