Title: Suicide in the park Post by: jpearce on August 17, 2008, 03:26:12 PM Erin and I were riding this AM, and were heading up the fire road that goes to Monestary (I think) when a couple of bikers stopped and warned us about what we were about to encounter. Seems that someone had jumped from the Henry Avenue bridge onto the trail. The cops had just arrived but the body was still lying uncovered on the trail. Those guys had come upon it with no warning. We chatted with them for a while, and when we climbed the hill the body was covered and a police car and several people were around it.
Geez, what a sad event. We go to the park to enjoy life. Someone else goes that to take their own life. First time Ive seen that, hopefully last time.
Title: Re: Suicide in the park Post by: DrSaw on August 17, 2008, 08:26:15 PM Last year I saw a guy jump off the Henry Ave bridge (right after it happened), and landed on Lincoln drive, barely taking out a car.
Was that at Jeanette street toady where the little-mini horse stable is at the top of the hill (where Green La curves?) Second suicide this year. I guy shot himself on the trail at Wlanut la bridge a couple weeks ago.
