In case you have not checked the events list, please take note that our next beginner clinic at Wiss will be Aug 10th, 11am at the Livezey Pavilion which is located at Pachella field off Livezey st.

We will have various groups with different abilities from beginner to advanced and a post ride BBQ at the pavilion which we have reserved for this event. Good times. Please go into the events list and register if you plan to attend. Just check and click

More details will be posted as we get it together.

You bring up a great point Lust,it's not clear on the front home page that a person should confirm if they are going to attend an event. The front page should have some language to encourage registering to attend an Upcomming event.

Yeah, there will be another set of clinics and we have more time to prepare so we'll have an even better event.

I'm looking forward to this, sounds like I really missed a good time last time. Not sure which clinic I'll do yet, but I'll be there for one of them.

This is insane.  Monday I finally get back to work after having my surgery a couple of weeks ago, and I'm excited about having the next month completely free and getting back to normal.  On this same day I learn about the bike clinic and I'm stoked because I've had to miss the last two.

Then I get home and check the mail.  I notice a letter from my fiance's grandparents.  Her great step-grandfather (I guess thats how it works with divorced grandparents) is turning 90 in August and there throwing him a surprise party...ON AUGUST 10!!!  In LONG ISLAND, NY!   >:(

So far we haven't decided if we are going because my fiance is also excited about this clinic.  I'm crossing my fingers we can visit another weekend... :-\

I am out too, as I am banned from bike until after the wedding (less than a month away).    >:(

I guess she doesn't want me coming down the aisle on crutches, or with a massive bandage wrapped around my head.   :P

Dude, I've been in that exact same spot, but for other reasons. I cracked 3 ribs about 6 weeks before my wedding. Nasty endo that ended after 3 barrel rolls down hill. My body felt like it was impaled on the end of my handle bar. Tried to hide it from the wife, till she saw the bruising when I was getting dressed. Soon to be wife almost become never to be wife if I hadn’t chosen wisely to not ride till after the honeymoon…..:o

Or you could just man up and tell her "I'm gonna ride". Is she gonna call off the wedding if you ride? No. And if she does you'll have all the time in the world to ride. It's win, win.

The being banned was sarcasm, she would prefer me not to be injured for the wedding and honemoon.

I will get a ride or two in, but aside from the "request" I got not to ride, work has been a biotch latetly.  I have been working 12 hours days and i am even going in for a few hours tomorrow.  We have the annual audit in three weeks and I have a ton to do before that, and the rest of the wedding prep.  Plus my wedding and honeymoon fall right in the middle of the audit, so that puts more pressure on me.  Okay, okay, enough bitchin', whinin', and complainin' on my part.

You could also say "I'm not stopping you from doing the dishes, the cleaning and cooking, so don't tell me that I can't ride." ;D

Anyone have any advice on how to get out of going to your Wifes/Gf/Fiances great grandfathers 90th bday party? 

I recieved the old guilt trip this weekend: "We have to go because what happens if he doesn't make it to 91?"  It was a tough response to repel. 

I really don't want to drive to Long Island on a Sunday and I don't want to go 0-3 on these clinics. 

Ooooo. That's a tough one. Set your car on fire. Then you can't drive to Long Island!

I would say, "Well he IS 90, we've already been to plenty of his birthdays."

She'll probably make me ride my bike there.  I'd have legs of steel after that ride.


Actually he hasn't had a birthday party since his 80th, and I wasn't seeing my fiance then.  So I'm SOL on that one.

Dude, bite the bullet and take one for the team. Trust me, it'll make things better in the long run ;) Especailly when it comes time to collect on browny points. Clinics are always going to be around. You can just post up that you want to learn some pointers from a few experienced riders and I'm sure they'll respond with a "when and where".................

Yea I know your right (I just haven't been riding in weeks and that is the first weekend that I'll be cleared to go from the doc, so it kind of bites that I'll be away.)

Plus, her grandfather has a house in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, and I plan on crashing there for Labor Day weekend to ride.  Probably shouldn't piss him off.

Damn, I hate being the voice of reason!!!!!!! Makes me feel like "The Grey Man", and I'm only 34. But, after being with my girl for 13 years I've made my share of good and bad choices :o, so learn wisely young grasshopper!

Well, when I read what happened to you, I could see that happening to me.  I already have to hide my riding bruises, from her.   :D

Plus I don't want to have to worry about dealing with injuries on my honeymoon.   :-\

Yea dude that would be terrible.  I know someone who recently got married and broke his leg a week before the wedding.  They weren't able to go on their honeymoon (lost all the money because they took out no insurance on it), and lets just say the Mrs. was not thrilled.  Not the best way to start a marriage. 

Is it 4 clinics, like the last one? Just trying to figure out which one to tag along on.

Good question, we are sorting it out now and hope to have it all figured out by tommorow. It will probably be the same sort of format.

At least a beginner, intermediate/expert, and a girls ride. The girls ride will be beginner to intermediate. If you're a total newbie and you happened to be a girl you may be better in the beginner group.

Also worth noting this update if it has not been announced yet. We have secured Jan to cook for the post ride BBQ. Jan is a BBQ champion and his food is no joke. BBQ is for supporting members only. If you have not joined up yet there will be forms available. Good times.

Not "beginner" because there really aren't any "beginner" areas at Wiss.  More of an "Intro to Wiss" ride to show off the less technical areas.   

Absolutely, getting back to riding, beginning to ride the Wiss. for the 1st time.  Wiss. has no novice dept.

There's been a slight change: Our girl ride will also welcome "intro" riders as well as beginner and intermediate. This means it is an all levels ride.

Good times by all!! Thanks to PMBA and the board for having another kick ass event. I didn't even mind the rain and slop. The wife wasn't too keen on the dirt I dragged into the house, but that's waht we have dust pans for  ;D

I'd be interested in an advance clinic for TTF's over at Belmont next time around?

The young lady busted her finger on that log which was sticking out somewhere and had caught others in the past. Some trail fairies took revenge.
