Title: New trails in Yardley Post by: Droptopchevy on July 06, 2008, 10:40:58 PM I'm currently working on trails in Yardley, PA near the canal if anyone is interested in helping me out with trail work and ideas. I have more than enough tools for a group of people and wood that is good for bridges.
Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: fightnut on July 07, 2008, 01:33:56 PM Droptopchevy, count me in. I'm in Yardley myself. I ride Core Creek a lot because it's so close, but would love to ride some other local stuff right in my own town, and having a part in building them would make it all that much more fun.
Contact me anytime you want some extra help. Lawndawgz@yahoo.com Jonathan Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Fattire on July 08, 2008, 10:20:44 AM hey droptop

Nick Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Droptopchevy on July 09, 2008, 11:34:19 PM The trails are right off of the canal path just south of Black Rock Road. There is a bench on the canal path and a trail leading back to the area I am talking about.
It was good riding with you at Bald Pate today Doug. Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Fattire on July 10, 2008, 11:15:03 PM ha ha
don't you mean hiking. the riding we did get to do was good and worth doing again. thanks for waiting. Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Droptopchevy on July 13, 2008, 12:16:04 AM I'll probably be working on the trails this Monday and Tuesday.
Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Droptopchevy on July 13, 2008, 09:35:20 PM I'll be out and about tomorrow making trails. For those of you interested in checking it out go to the canal path in Yardley at Black Rock Road. Head south on the canal path and make a left into the woods at the first bench. The trails go to the left and right after you cross a migshift bridge. I most likely will be making trails to the right (south).
Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Droptopchevy on July 21, 2008, 10:36:02 PM Starting defining some deer trails to accept bicycles and laid down a bridge over a swampy area. Gotta start working on log overs since I don't have a chain saw.
Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Lust4singletrack on July 22, 2008, 10:32:11 AM Droptop. Do you know how to make grade reversals. Just wondering cause a trail without grade reversals will channel water and become eroded over time. This is bad. Grade reversals can be made into jumps.
Also avoid flat areas cause they will puddle and then you will end up with a big puddle in the middle of your trail, which people will go around which then makes the puddle bigger and bigger. This gives the trail bad flow; like ride flow. And you want the trail to have nice flow. I'm just curious cause deer are not always the best trail designers. Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Dr. Doctor on September 04, 2008, 05:53:44 PM Any news on this trail... Just recently found this forum and interested in something close to home?? I'd be willing to help out when I could as well. Let me know
Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Droptopchevy on September 04, 2008, 08:52:00 PM I go back there about once every two weeks to work on it. I laid down some wooden planks to cross over a downed tree so there is a full bike rideable loop.
Title: Re: New trails in Yardley Post by: Dr. Doctor on September 10, 2008, 10:00:14 PM nice. This Saturday or Sunday I plan on making a trip down along with Nesh. High.
