I'll be in Maryland for a wedding so I can't make it. Hopefully I can catch the next one. The day of when you wake up just keep saying how sick you feel & start moaning..OH- but don't get caught with your cycling shoes on in bed! ;D Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Rico on June 06, 2008, 08:51:45 AM I should be there. Gotta be out by noon though to shower up and head down to the Stadium area to tailgate with the Parrotheads before I go to the Rush concert! ;D

Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Kman on June 09, 2008, 12:28:28 PM Newz flash:: I have gotten a request to change the time of the ride on Sat the 14th, Fow is working at Devils Pool, and the time clash, I'm thinking instead of 10am making it either 12pm, or 2pm? Anyone have a prefference!?!! ???
Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Rico on June 09, 2008, 12:30:46 PM Well, my preference would be as early as we could. I am being selfish though, since I need to leave at a certain to go to a concert.
Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: DannyC21 on June 09, 2008, 12:44:45 PM Well, the best shot for me to make it would be 2p.m. This will give me enough time to drive up from Annapolis. But that doesn't necessarily mean I will be there, it just increases my odds.
Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Kman on June 09, 2008, 12:57:19 PM Newz flash:: I have gotten a request to change the time of the ride on Sat the 14th, Fow is working at Devils Pool, and the time clash, I'm thinking instead of 10am making it either 12pm, or 2pm? Anyone have a prefference!?!! ??? OK I just confirmed with Karl, we don't think devils pools is going to clash with the riders comming so the time stand as is 10am will be the time to meet--NO CHANGE in time, 10 am - sorry Danny, 8) Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Lust4singletrack on June 09, 2008, 01:03:30 PM ...and now back to your regularly scheduled program....

I'll try to catch the next one. Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Lust4singletrack on June 09, 2008, 02:53:58 PM Yea Danny is ready for the next level. Bring the flaming hoops.

Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Kman on June 10, 2008, 11:22:49 AM FYI. Intermediates are welcome to join us, and expert riders too! All PMBA members are encouraged to show their faces, its a good opportunity to see us together without shovels and wheel-barrels ....
K Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Rico on June 10, 2008, 12:24:57 PM ...its a good opportunity to see us together without shovels and wheel-barrels .... K You have been reported by the PMBA spelling nazi. wheel·bar·row Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[wheel-bar-oh, weel-] Pronunciation Key - –noun 1. a frame or box for conveying a load, supported at one end by a wheel or wheels, and lifted and pushed at the other by two horizontal shafts. –verb (used with object) 2. to move or convey in a wheelbarrow. Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Rico on June 11, 2008, 09:23:38 AM And this is coming from the guy who spells "You" as "U" ;D "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?" Ha-ha. Jess....I changed my sig. When I first set it up there was a limit on the number of characters allowed, so in order to get the whole quote in there I had to shorten it. It has been fix now. ;D Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Kman on June 11, 2008, 12:00:37 PM wheel deez
;) Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: fightnut on June 14, 2008, 09:57:20 PM What was that road that we came out to, where we turned back? Was that Wise Mills?
I was just looking at the map and trying to get a bearing on where we rode today. Thanks. Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: bonkers on June 14, 2008, 10:23:04 PM I believe that was Wise's Mill, fightnut. We didn't go to Summit which would be the next major road so back track one from that.
Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Fattire on June 15, 2008, 10:25:36 AM Just want to say thanks for having the clinic.
I had a good time and learned a few things as well. look forward to more in the future. Also to the guy who left early I got my helmet thanks. You might want to check out some of the rides that philly/ trenton meetup have. Here is a link to the Philly sitehttp://mountainbikes.meetup.com/137/ (http://mountainbikes.meetup.com/137/) see you on the trails Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Kman on June 15, 2008, 12:18:48 PM I want to thank everyone for showing up, it was a great ride, and I had a lot of fun. It was good to get to meet some new people who are getting back into riding. I wasn't expecting such a large turn out and that made it even better. Sorry one guy had to jet early, but even beginner rides can be tough. I wasn't thinking before that "beginner ride" could mean, experienced riders who haven't ridden in a while, "beginning" to ride again! What a great concept! For some reason I never thought about it but it makes great sense. The sport has changed a bit from advancements in technology development of bikes in that past couple years, it must be great to come back to the sport again. Thanks to everyone for coming out to our first skool clinic.
How about a roadtrip to Fairhill? Karl Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: jpearce on June 15, 2008, 03:06:12 PM Hou about Fair Hill next Saturday? It's a great place for beginners and intermediates alike.
Also - we're still looking for participants for the Horse/Bike Experience on Sunday. It's a good chance for new riders to help PMBA's image and learn about another group of trail users. Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Rico on June 15, 2008, 09:20:53 PM Yeah, that was a great ride and it was great to meet some of the people who are new to the board. Sorry I had to bail at Wises Mill Road as well. Too much beer on Thursday and Friday makes for a shorter ride on Saturday.
Fattire, were you the guy in the truck when Karl and I were looking at my derailler? If you live close to me and want to hit PennyPack, let me know. Ricocpa@yahoo.com Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: DAGMTB on June 15, 2008, 09:34:52 PM I only rode with you guys for a short section of the park but i thought it was great to see such a large group. I literally had forgotten that the ride was going on so I was really surprised when all of you passed me when I stopped.
Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: adoble on June 16, 2008, 12:42:06 PM I had a great time yesterday, thanks to everyone and it was nice to meet you all. I hope there will a few more meet-up like this, I'll check the mountain bike meet up website for more.

Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Kman on June 16, 2008, 03:51:57 PM No Picts!
Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: bonkers on June 16, 2008, 06:33:17 PM yeah that part sucked, we all flaked on the cameras! I think what you're bound to see though is the increase in the turnout for whenever the next clinic would be.
Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: Lust4singletrack on June 16, 2008, 10:17:40 PM Dang!
I'm bummed I could not make it. I gotta make it out to the next one. Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: dieselkarl on June 16, 2008, 11:19:39 PM No pics.
Rico - the guy in the black truck is my friend Soo - he's gotta build up stamina on the flats before he hits trails. He loved getting out though - after a few dozen miles on the flat's I'll put him in touch with you as he lives in Abington and Pennypack would work well for him. Karl Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: DannyC21 on June 17, 2008, 08:57:34 AM Quote Dang! I'm bummed I could not make it. I gotta make it out to the next one. Yea me too. I'm really looking forward to attending the next one. I think PennyPack would be a good place to work up to the Wiss for him. It is always easy to bail out to the paved trail there and there is definitely less hill there. Shoot me an email if you can about a replacement derailleur hanger. I may be in Conchy on Friday evening. ricocpa@yahoo.com Title: Re: Beginner MTB event Saturday June 14, 10AM Post by: LC_ on June 17, 2008, 06:59:27 PM Quote Dang! I'm bummed I could not make it.
