Title: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Lou on February 22, 2008, 08:57:56 AM Hello all, We are developing the PMBA riding jersey and we want anyone and everyone who has the ability to submit a design. Chris Hunter threw this design together in an hour and it's a great start. It may be hard to conceptualize from the template, but I think you can imagine it.
This is the template to use: http://www.customsublimation.com/index.asp?pageID=miscellaneous&btnSubmit=ByFileID&cboFileID=4909&cboFileCategoryID=1169 Note that once we have the design you can order any type of jersey you want, like short sleeve, long sleeve, tight, loose, etc... Please use this thread to submit your design. Let's see em!!! Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Rico on February 22, 2008, 09:21:56 AM Sah-weeeeeet. I'll have to try to do one tonight after work.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Chuck U on February 22, 2008, 11:43:35 AM I'll place the first order for full PMBA skin suit....sleeveless of course.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Lou on February 22, 2008, 11:54:09 AM I want a PMBA thong... :-*
Here's our logo Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: vegancheesesteak on February 22, 2008, 02:31:08 PM Here's a rough draft of a jersey, that I believe, encapsulates the Philadelphia experience. From the Eagles (no matter the sporting event it E-A-G-L-E-S Go Eagles), to 40ozs, cheesesteaks, gun violence, and gold chains. Of course you can't forget Wawa... No matter what we do, its fueled by Wawa. If they only sold alcohol... one can dream....
Apologies... (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a379/vegancheesesteak/pmba_jersey_yo.jpg) Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Lust4singletrack on February 22, 2008, 03:17:00 PM That is sweet. Great now I have to go to Wawa. My mouth is watering.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Chuck U on February 22, 2008, 03:21:07 PM Oh that would be great with some Zoobas or sweat pant bottoms......

Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Chuck U on February 22, 2008, 03:39:42 PM Dude! Get some graffiti on there like under all the bridges in the Wiss and we have a winner! Thats what I said! I have a friend that's good with that stuff, I'm sure he could whip up some "custom" graffiti for it.... Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: fishnchips on February 22, 2008, 04:19:03 PM couldn't resist

Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: vegancheesesteak on February 22, 2008, 07:20:08 PM Sick curiosity and Google lead me to find they are making real Zubaz again.... stock up folks.
http://www.zubaz.com/about.htm Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Rico on February 22, 2008, 08:27:43 PM Okay, maybe I am really computer illiterate, but how do you make the jersey?
The template is in PDF format. How do you copy and paste into that? Or is there a way to do it through the link that Lou put up? Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: vegancheesesteak on February 22, 2008, 10:31:50 PM The proper way would be to open the PDF in Adobe Illustrator and then create a new layer or layers for your art. Alternatively, for comping purposes, you can open the PDF in Photoshop and rasterize it at a decent resolution. (1000px wide or higher) and mock up your art. If you are doing it for printing Illustrator is def. the way to go, but sometimes its easier to work on your ideas in Photoshop and then redo the finals in Ill.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: chunter on February 23, 2008, 08:32:11 AM Yeah, Creating the template properly will require the use of Adobe Illustrator and the use of Clipping Masks.
You use the templates as your clipping mask for your design. Here's a tutorial on how to do that will adobe illustrator: http://www.tutorialguide.net/masking_with_adobe_illustrator_tutorial.html Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: phillygui on April 03, 2008, 04:13:29 PM Sorry to bump this thread, but is anyone still interested? That wawa jersey is amazing, btw.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: vegancheesesteak on April 03, 2008, 04:22:36 PM Definitely still interested. I just haven't had a life outside of work the last couple weeks to work on anything. Hope to get back at it soon. Anyone else got an attempt in the works?
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Lust4singletrack on April 03, 2008, 06:18:45 PM Yea let's keep this alive. It's on the list>
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: phillygui on April 04, 2008, 10:30:44 AM I would def get 2 of them. One to ride in and the other to hang above the mantel I don't have.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Lust4singletrack on May 21, 2008, 07:27:52 AM So we have a general idea of the jersey design and there has been some discussion amongst the board whether we are actually going to order these things.
So do we still have a lot of interest? I know that I'm in to get a few. Depending on what the final cost will be. We may take orders or we may just make them available in the store depending on the amount of interest. Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: pahearn on May 21, 2008, 09:34:57 AM I would be interested depending on what they look like, can we see the current ideas?
-p Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Lust4singletrack on May 21, 2008, 09:59:56 AM No way Pete! You must buy sight unseen.
Just kidding. This is the general idea, but not set in stone. The REI logo is going to be removed. Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Dmitri on May 21, 2008, 10:02:28 AM +1
I'd most likely buy at least one to support PMBA, maybe more than one depending on the design and final price. dz PS and we need several cuts, for DH cut and for XC cut. Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: pahearn on May 21, 2008, 10:12:18 AM Yeah Tom blind dates never really worked out for me either. :)
Looks like a good start! I know a graphic designer who might be able to lend her expertise but she might be too busy, I'll find out in the next few days. -p Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Rico on May 21, 2008, 10:40:06 AM I like it!!! ;D
.....except the trees on back. Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: mtrostle on May 21, 2008, 10:58:31 AM I'm down for at least 2.................depending on the finalized design
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: jay on May 21, 2008, 02:17:23 PM I'd definitely get one, maybe two. not down with the trees either- how about the philly skyline on the back over the pockets? also, how about a grey/silver background instead of white. can we use the FOW or the Fairmount Park Commission logos on it? just suggestions.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: phillygui on May 21, 2008, 03:21:09 PM Not gonna lie, I was pretty down with the Wawa/Glock/Cheesesteak version. ;)
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: bonkers on May 21, 2008, 08:06:48 PM I'm still interested in getting one (or two) of these jerseys. I agree with Dmitri though, if cost doesn't become an issue, maybe we should have 2 versions of this. I like the option of having a looser fitting jersey.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: vegancheesesteak on May 21, 2008, 08:42:22 PM Ok, I'm down with finishing the glock, 40oz, cheesesteak version. I was wondering if anyone has a thick gold chain and a glock that Chuck could photograph? We need to get the perspective and scale right for the jersey. I'll supply the 40oz...
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Fish on May 21, 2008, 09:35:44 PM I will buy 2 at least.. I like the design. Nice job Hunter! What does everyone think about adding some color like some orange or something so we are easy to identify..?
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Lou on May 21, 2008, 10:29:08 PM Count me in for at least one short sleeve and one long sleeve. Once we get the design you can choose the fit and sleeve length yourself... Yo Nick, Neil has a glock and we may have to go buy a fake gold chain to photo. If you find one buy it and the club will reimburse you as long as it's not crazy money... There is a costume shop down on 2nd st that will most likely have something cool. I will try to get down there or someone else do it if your down by 2nd and Race. Hunter I like yours too, maybe make a revision or another option, drop the REI logo and put some racin stripes on that baby. Damn I wish I have illustrator on my PC...
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: vegancheesesteak on May 21, 2008, 11:35:41 PM Cool...Neil can we borrow the Glock? I promise I wont rob liquor stores with it....
You mean to tell me some of you guys have lived in Philly all your lives and no gold chains? ;D What would be better authentic gold chain or gold bike chain around the neck? Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Chuck U on May 21, 2008, 11:38:16 PM Yeah, KMC makes Ti nitrided chains that are gold in color......pretty expensive but could be used after the photos were taken.
But maybe philly style chain would be better. Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: squeaks on May 23, 2008, 11:56:22 AM ill take two i short sleeve and one long. what is the time frame of when they will be completed?
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: phillygui on May 23, 2008, 12:09:08 PM I will buy 2 of the cheesesteak ones for sure. And I know a couple others that will as well. Got to go with the 'Philly' gold chain to keep it Gansta.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: DannyC21 on June 03, 2008, 01:07:48 PM Anyone know when the regular PMBA jersey's will be out? (Not the Wawa/Glock one) . I'm also interested in purchasing one.
Title: Re: PMBA JERSEY DESIGN Post by: Lust4singletrack on August 01, 2008, 10:39:36 AM If you are still interested in a jersey please check out a new subject in the PMBA topics section of the forum. Trying to get an idea of how many jerseys we will need to order.
