Title: Things to do when the trails are too wet..... Post by: Chuck U on January 07, 2008, 12:21:26 AM I know I'm not the only one here who goes a bit crazy when it's too bad to ride. What's your "fix?"
Me: Fixed gear road when it's not too brutal cold, but then the trails should be frozen so all good Road rides where I just go find as many stupid steep hills as possible. Trainer/Rollers when it's REALLY bad. Bike maintenance Also: Chew finger nails Spend too much time on the internet Spend too much money at the bike shop Twitch slightly (intermittent) The worst part of this is my work is much slower this time of year, so I just end up with more spare time. :( Title: Re: Things to do when the trails are too wet..... Post by: mtrostle on January 07, 2008, 09:57:16 AM Purchased a road bike for this reason. Plus, I work late on the weekdays and it's not always safe to be a single rider on the trails late at night. So, my fix is to go hammer the cranks (on the road bike) on Kelly/West River Drive and climb the hills of the "Yunk". Never thought I'd enjoy road riding but it has opened up a whole new appreciation and dimension to being on 2 wheels!!!
Oh, and spend too much time on the internet reading about riding and buying too many things. Makes me feel complete ;D Title: Re: Things to do when the trails are too wet..... Post by: Lust4singletrack on January 07, 2008, 05:44:26 PM Urban assault. Stairs, loading docks, walls. Pretty much anything is rideable with creativity. There is a parking garage downtown where you can shuttle up on the elevator and bomb down the ramp hangin it out on the turns. Good times. I also like to do trail work cause it's easy to see where the water is sitting.
