Dear Members and friends of PMBA,

We had a great showing at several recent FOW work days! And it hasn't gone unnoticed. We earned a degree of appreciation and respect from FOW and FPC for all the support and effort we put in.

I want to thank you and congratulate you on that success!!! I would also like to encourage you and all of PMBA not to rest on our accomplishment and to continue supporting FOW in their efforts.

Having gained the trust of FOW and the FPC, PMBA secured a regular time slot in the busy FPC schedule to perform a trail maintenance and improvement project, which will be scheduled on the  fourth (4th) Saturday of every month. These Trail Maintenance Days (TMDs) will be organized and coordinated by PMBA volunteers, with Tom Coyle and Dmitri Zorine leading the charge.

The first TMD is scheduled for June 23rd. The goal of that day will be to rock armor several sections of the trail.

In preparation we will need your help in the difficult and time consuming task of collecting and moving large rocks in the quantities required for this effort.  [delete - something like armoring a whole section of the trial. It would be impossible to accomplish that task in one day without extensive preparation. Therefore, the current plan is to start collecting and preparing the rock material ahead of the time, so that it is readily available and easy to access on the 23rd.

During the next two FOW work days, on May 12th and June 2nd, the plan is to help a boy scout with his Eagle Scout project (a very worthy effort!), which is to improve a trailhead by filling in some areas with material to conduct a grade reversal, as well as addressing some heavily eroded trail.

The PMBA TM team would help with these projects, and at the same time would use the opportunity to keep an eye out for discarded rock material, and to collect more rocks in preparation for our TM project on the 23rd of June.

We, the PMBA TM volunteer group would like to ask and encourage all of you to come out to the next two FOW work days to support them and help PMBA TM to better prepare for our TM day. The more of you that come out to help, the more rocks we can collect and the better prepared we will be on the 23rd.

The TM day on the 23rd will be our first, and first impressions count most.

PMBA members did an outstanding job with Rally in the Valley on our first try, receiving tons of positive feed back! Lets continue on this path of success and turn our first TM day into another great success on the first try!

Please, come out and help us to make it happen.

Again, the FOW work days are scheduled for May 12th and June 2nd. We need volunteers to come out to these to better prepare for the PMBA TM day on June 23rd.

PMBA TM volunteer crew.
