PLEASE come join the work crews! This is the Early Implementation Phase of the Sustainable Trails Initiative!
This is a long project lasting thru a good part of the summer. If you'd like to join in and be part of this great effort the volunteer dates are listed below. We hope PMBA has strong showings on these trail days. BUT please note that the IMBA guys will be there almost every day and ANYTIME you can make it out is much appreciated!
The project starts at Bells Mill Rd next to the creek on the East side of park. Here. Please keep in mind that due to the complexity of the job scope, if you plan to come on a non-group day that you may need to travel down the worksite to locate the crew as there is no telling exactly where the focus of work will be at any given time.
The Early Implementation Trail, a one-mile length of the Orange trail between Bell's Mill Road and the Thomas Mill Road Covered Bridge on the Chestnut Hill side of the park. Work will include invasive plan removal, some re-routing of the trail where it goes through wet areas or floodplain, installation of some signage and wayfinding, and an innovative planting plan. The new trail WILL BE SWEET!
